4 of The Best Coffee Shops in Quebec CityApril 24, 2017
Quebec City was recently the host of the 2017 edition of Expo Manger Santé et Vivre Vert. Since Oatbox was exhibiting at the show, we figured we’d make the most of our stay in the provincial capital by wandering through the different neighbourhoods, on the lookout for the best places to enjoy a good cup of coffee. Here are a few pictures of our favourite spots – who knows, maybe this will make you want to go on a roadtrip and see for yourself!
Located in the Saint-Roch borough, Maelstrom is a charming café where a smooth folk playlist lulls you under the light of day. When the sun goes down, the place turns into a cocktail bar, making it a perfect in-between for a peaceful study session followed by a rewarding evening with friends. On weekends, the place also offers a brunch menu that’s well worth the detour!
Le lièvre et la tortue
Conveniently located next door to La folle fourchette’s lovely boutique, this coffee shop is the perfect spot for an afternoon snack. Just like a cozy tearoom, colourful decorations give the space all its individuality and fun factor. The cucumber sandwich and floral tea are the perfect combination to enjoy Spring’s freshness.
With two locations in Quebec City, Nektar is a specialist of all things coffee, and offers a great variety for both connoisseurs and humble coffee enthusiasts. We visited the address on 3rd Avenue and the beautiful afternoon light made the place all the more welcoming.
This micro coffee-roaster is already known for its three spots in Montreal, but we were particularly excited to pay a visit to the recently opened location in Quebec City. As expected, this place did not disappoint. From all the donuts we devoured to the rich lattes served in their signature-coloured mugs, everything was perfect!
