Our five favourite spots for an iced coffee in MontrealAugust 11, 2017
We took advantage of the last heat waves of the summer to walk the streets of Montreal, looking for the best iced coffees, lattes and cold brews the city has to offer. Here are the places that attracted our attention throughout the city, from Little Burgundy through Downtown, going up the Mile-End and Outremont to finish in Villeray!
This classic Villeray spot should definitely be at the top of your list if you have never paid it a visit. The regulars already know that Café Ferlucci serves the best iced coffees of the neighborhood, and what can we say about their incredible crema caffès! They also have a large terrace that is perfect to meet up with a group of friends under the sun. We also have a scoop for you guys; the Ferlucci will be able to welcome more coffee lover as of next September. To be continued!
This newcomer opened its doors on Avenue Van Horn in Outremont recently but it is already making a lot of waves in the restaurant industry. Halfway between the coffee shop and the wine bar, Boxermans has a great terrace where we loved to spend the afternoon. We have to admit we first went for the place’s Instagram-worthy design, but we will definitely be back for its delicious iced lattes!
September Surf Café
It’s already a well-known fact that Little Burgundy is a hot spot for restaurants and coffee shops and September Surf Café is certainly one of our favourite addresses of the neighborhood. The large bay window overlooking the street creates picture-perfect lightning inside and for those who rather sit outside, there is also a beautiful back terrace where you can enjoy an iced latte in good company.
Café Humble Lion
We got a soft spot for this newly discovered coffee shop nestled in the heart of downtown, next to Place Ville-Marie. With a magnificent geographical map that covers a whole wall as sole decoration, Café Humble Lion stuns with simplicity. In the middle of summer, the open doors overlooking the vibrant chaos of downtown Montreal make it the perfect spot to stop for an iced tea between two shopping sessions!
This last address on our list has been a favourite of the trendy Mile-End ever since it opened its doors, more than a year ago. Larry's quickly became the place where locals like to stop for a cold drink at any moment of the day. The discreet restaurant is the perfect place for a break after a long stroll on Saint-Laurent. During the summer, the windows are wide open and there is always a place or two to sit at the counter!
