Retreat Up North

December 15, 2014

There is no warmer feeling than being gathered amongst close friends and family, around a long table, during Christmas time. Not so long ago, Christmas was strongly associated with the Christian religion, but it slowly became a widely celebrated holiday. For us, it is the perfect pretext to share a table with people we deeply care about and indulge in never-ending festivities, great food and mid-day breakfasts in pyjamas. For our December inspiration, we decided to retreat to a cottage about an hour North of Montreal, in Mont-Tremblant, Quebec.

It’s not really Christmas without a decorated tree. In Quebec, you can either buy a tree, or go cut one yourself. Of course, as adventurous as we are, we decided to go with the latter. We did not regret our choice when we stumbled upon a deer, calmly grazing in the forest.

For us, December is the month of coziness, the month of well-earned family time. For once, you can wake up without an alarm, spend the morning in bed, eat brunches more than lunches and do close to nothing during your day. Enjoy your Holidays.
